Friends of the Welles-Turner Memorial Library

The Friends of Welles-Turner Memorial Library is a non-profit membership organization. They provide financial support for library initiatives not provided by the Town of Glastonbury budget. From the Friends...

The Friends of Welles-Turner Memorial Library will hold its Fall Book Sale at Academy School/Town Hall on Main Street here in Glastonbury. This is a new location for the sale and will allow for a multi-day indoor sale.

New this fall! On Friday, September 6th, a “Preview Event” will be held which will run from 5-8 p.m. The fee for each adult entering will be $10. Children will be free. Patrons will have the chance to shop early and find treasures before the big sale on Saturday.

Saturday, September 7th, the sale will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Sunday, September 8th, the sale will run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Another new event will be a “bag sale.” This will be held on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. During this time, patrons will be able to fill a bag (provided by the Friends) with all of the books they can! Cost for each bag will be $10.

Thank you for considering the Friends when you are looking to donate books! We are grateful for clean, gently used books. Please place your boxed or bagged donations in the Donation House near the back entrance to the library. The Donation House will close on August 7th in order to prepare for our fall sale. We are very appreciative of community donations as we could not have a successful sale without them. It will reopen on Saturday, September 21st.

We are always looking for volunteers to help us out with our Book Sale. If you would like to donate even a few hours on September 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th, we would appreciate it. Please contact us at booksale@friendswtmlib.org or 860-652-7728.

The Friends would like to appreciatively thank the Glastonbury Greater Together Community Fund through the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, for their generous grant that helped fund the summer reading program at Welles-Turner.
